Decades of research shows that parent involvement is related to a host of student achievement indicators, including grades, attendance, attitudes, expectations, homework completion, and state test results. It’s accounted for other academic outcomes such as lower dropout rates, fewer retentions and fewer special education placements. In addition to improving grades and test scores, parental involvement has positive effects on students’ behavior.
